The Borough of Somerdale is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the full-time position of Clerk Typist I in the Municipal Clerk’s Office.
Working under the direction of the Municipal Clerk, the successful candidate will support the daily functions of the department. Responsibilities include processing and issuing local licenses and permits, assisting with records requests, supporting the finance office with various tasks, and updating the Borough’s website and social media platforms.
Additional hours are required for elections and monthly council meetings. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as proficiency with Microsoft programs, are essential. During employment, the successful candidate must also obtain certification as a Registrar of Vital Statistics and as a Municipal Clerk.
This position offers opportunities for growth and advancement. The annual salary is $40,000, with medical and dental benefits, vacation, sick, and personal time, and enrollment in the Public Employees’ Pension system.
