Go Green Challenge: New Video Series Offers Sustainable Tips for Everyday Living

The Somerdale Green Team is proud to share an exciting update to the Go Green Challenge: a new three-part video series that highlights simple, practical actions residents can take to live more sustainably. This video series builds on the momentum of the original challenge and provides helpful guidance on three key topics: Composting, Leaving the Leaves, and Water Conservation.

Composting
Discover how to turn food scraps and yard waste into nutrient-rich compost for your garden. This video offers an easy introduction to composting basics, tools, and tips for reducing household waste.

Leave the Leaves
Learn why leaving fallen leaves in place—rather than bagging them—can benefit your yard and local ecosystem. This video explores how this low-effort practice supports pollinators, enriches soil, and helps manage stormwater.

Water Conservation
Explore ways to reduce water usage indoors and outdoors without sacrificing comfort or convenience. From fixing leaks to rethinking your landscaping, this video shares ideas that can lower your utility bill and help preserve natural resources.

Each video is designed to support participants at every level of the Go Green Challenge—whether you’re Just Getting Started, a Green Friend, or a Green Champion. These small actions add up to big impacts for Somerdale and beyond.
