As a Borough Council-appointed, record-keeping officer, the Borough Clerk and staff are responsible for the preparation, execution, and archiving of all Borough Council documents as prescribed by State law and Borough Code.These duties include:
- Archiving Borough Council documents, official proceedings, ordinances, and resolutions
- Administering marriage applications, as well as marriage, civil union, birth and death certificates
- Administering all business licenses
- Maintaining Borough Council meeting and election materials
- Developing agreements and leases
- Administering pet licenses
- Administering Raffle and Bingo licenses
- Providing Notary Public services
- Publicizing of legal notices
- Recording official documents
- Administering Special Events Permits
- Street Opening Permits
- Issuing of Liquor Licenses as well as Social Affairs Permits and processes Place-to-Place and Person-to-Person license transfers
- Election Official which entails overseeing the Primary and General Elections, as well as any Special Elections that may take place within the Borough
- Voter Registration and Election information
- Public Record Requests/OPRA

PUBLIC RECORDS
The Municipal Clerk’s Office is responsible for public records and other information, including all resolutions and ordinances that are adopted by the Governing Body. Public records and other information can be requested from the Municipal Clerk’s Office by submitting the Records and Information Request Form.

LICENSES
MARRIAGE, CIVIL UNION, BIRTH AND DEATH CERTIFICATES
Mariage, Civil Union, Birth and Death certificates remain on file in the city where the person was married, bornor died Clerk’s Office. A certified copy can be requested for $20 for first copy, $10 for each additional copy. For more information on vital statistics, please click on the link.
