OVERVIEW
The Public Information Officer (PIO) is responsible for the dissemination of information to the public through the Somerdale television and print media. The unit provides field media contacts during incidents, information for release to the media concerning bulletins and lookouts, as well as updates on previous investigations. The PIO is also responsible for maintaining crime statistics for the department and for maintaining the sex offender registry.
